Search for Contacts

The contacts section in the chart sidebar displays all person records associated with the currently selected organization. You can filter this list by typing a name or any CRM attribute shown on the contact cards (e.g., job title).

To find a contact that is associated with a different organization in your CRM, use the All CRM toggle in the search bar. This switches the search scope from the current organization to your entire CRM, allowing you to find any contact regardless of which account they are linked to.

Once you find the contact, drag them onto the org chart as you normally would. vizrm will automatically update the CRM association to reflect the organization where you have placed them on the chart β€” no manual cleanup required in HubSpot or Pipedrive.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Use All CRM search when working with multi-entity accounts (e.g., parent companies with multiple subsidiaries) where contacts may be spread across different organizations in your CRM.

Create new Persons from the org chart

Create a new CRM record for a person directly from the vizrm org chart, either by selecting the + (Plus Icon) from the chart menu and selecting "create person" or by clicking the button "create new person" in the contacts section in the chart sidebar on the left.

This will open the person creation dialogue in the chart sidebar. Provide a name to the contact, and optionally provide various details below. These attributes from the CRM can be fully customized as part of the view configuration.

After filling in the details, click "save" at the bottom of the dialogue. vizrm will automatically create the new contact in the CRM and associate it with the selected organization on the chart.

The newly created contact will be displayed in the contacts section in the chart sidebar on the left of the vizrm org chart, from where it can be dragged to the correct place on the org chart.

Edit person contact details from the org chart

Editing the details of a person in vizrm will automatically update the record in the CRM.

To edit the details of a person's record in vizrm, click the contact menu by hovering over the header of a person item on the org chart and clicking the three-dot icon. From the contact menu, select "edit details". Alternatively, select a contact on the chart, navigate to the details section of the chart sidebar, and select the pen icon next to any of the contact attributes.

The details are editable directly in the chart sidebar (which can be fully customized as part of the view configuration).

When completing the editing, click the "save" button at the bottom of the details section. This will automatically update the contact in vizrm and the CRM system.

Search for contacts in LinkedIn

If a contact's details should be validated with information from LinkedIn, this can be done easily from vizrm. On the org chart, select a contact and launch the chart menu. Click the option "Open LinkedIn Profile" to launch a new tab with the contact's profile page.

If a contact has not yet been matched via the vizrm LinkedIn CRM integration, it will display the option "Search in LinkedIn" which will launch a new tab with a LinkedIn search for the contact name and organization.
